Are you ready to live a healthier life?

There are many reasons that we choose to take a step back and evaluate how we care for ourselves. In this fast-paced, busy and challenging world often we put our health and wellness on a back burner. Stop that! Creating a healthy life should be your #1 priority.

Why is it vital that you live an intentionally healthy life?

When you take the time to eat right, exercise, get enough rest and make time for self-care you will find that you have more energy, your focus is improved and you feel and look great. These changes improve every aspect of your life.

How do you know that you need to change the road you are on and take your health seriously?

  • Are you running out of energy halfway through the day?
  • Do you find it hard to focus?
  • Are you hungry all the time?
  • Are you gaining weight?
  • Do you feel emotionally and physically exhausted?
  • Do you feel out of shape?

Every single one of these examples can be improved with a healthy eating plan that is full of nutritional food choices and vitamins that your body craves, as well as making sure that you get out and exercise.

Following are five steps that will help you detour off the path you are on and start your personal journey to reach your goals!

Step One

Start a food journal. Why? Because a food journal will allow you to see in black and white your food choices throughout each day. Your food journal MUST include one vital ingredient. HONESTY! Right down every beverage, meal, snack, treat, etc. When you start being honest about what you put in your body you can begin to see where you need to improve. Write a note about an hour or so after you eat a meal explaining how you feel. Are you sluggish? Unfocused? Still hungry?

Step Two

Sit down and evaluate how your time is being spent every day. Where are your “time-wasters”? Are you spending too much time online or in front of the TV? Are you getting eight hours of sleep each night? Where can you make changes to fit in meal planning, prepping that will allow you to stick to a focused, nutritional diet all week? Where can you fit in exercise? Whether you exercise consists of long walks, visiting a gym, yoga or any other activity that keeps you active find time for it. If you spend 30 minutes a day getting fit at the end of the week that comes to 3½ hours you exercised! I believe anyone can find thirty minutes a day to spend on caring for their body’s fitness needs.

Step Three

Go shopping! Now that you know where you need to improve your diet create a shopping list that will help you make the dietary changes that you need to make.
